We're coming up on summer and whether you're going on vacation, a business trip, or something completely different, you're going to appreciate some quick and easy healthy food ideas.
These pointers can help you stay on track and help you bring, and find real food.
And while these suggestions can all be used right here at home, they're especially important when you're traveling. Traveling can throw your regular healthy habits off when you're skipping time zones or even just being in a different place.
As a health coach, I have to admit that I have such a sense of pride when my clients skip junky convenience foods! Let me give you some great strategies that can help you do this while you're "on the road."

Pro Tip:When booking your hotel room, ask if you can have one with a mini-fridge. This will help you store some of your healthy snacks and groceries while you’re there.
Be sure and have fun with it, too! Our family did some extensive traveling several years ago, and within a week of being in Australia, we were invited to a Hangi out on a co-op type of property, by someone we were talking to at the local health food store. A Hangi is traditionally a New Zealand Maori way of cooking in a pit using heated rocks, but this was in the Tablelands of Queensland.
We met some great people while helping to prepare a delicious meal. You never know what opportunities you might come across if you're open while traveling.
Bringing Your Own Healthy Snacks
This is really important because not only will it keep you from becoming a "hungry junk seeker," but it can also hold you off until you're able to stop at a proper grocery store for some actual real food.
If you're traveling by plane, you're a little more limited to what you can bring. Mostly you have to say no the fresh foods. Be sure to check the rules before you fly.

How To Find Healthy Food At Your Destination
I've found some great food while traveling and I love to take pictures of it! I'm so tickled when I find food just as healthy as what I'd make at home.
You can always Google your destination and search for health food stores or healthy restaurants. But here are also a couple of websites and apps that may be helpful for you.
Traveling often comes with unnecessary junk food that can derail your healthy lifestyle. Planning ahead and being prepared can be simple, and can help keep your health goals on track even when you're out and about.
